 Main story: 
Argento's life has always been quite sheltered from the outside world as achild, first because of the war between Kanto and Johto (and New Bark Town being right there at the border) and then after his father passed away during a battle on Mt. Silver (he was a soldier). Since then his mother was terrorized to let any of her children outside without supervision, and it took a good convincing from Professor Elm to let Argento start his journey.

Once finally setting out for Argento, with his trusty starter Achona the Totodile by his side, he showed to be very talented as a Trainer and caught up very quickly to Gold and other kids who started a month before him. Going through the various cities, he managed to find again a bond with his beloved cousin Kristy, and convince her to follow the trainer career too once of age, and he also met many new friends, some of which would become extremely important in his life.

In fact, it was at Goldenrod that Argento not only met Aurelie, who would become a dear friend in the following years, but he also met who was going to be his best friend and soul brother, Ash Jaime. Ash was on vacation with his mother (who actually needed some shopping for items Kanto didn't have) and they got there via train, and even though his stay wasn't much long the kids got along immediately. Ash was very impressed to see a Trainer barely older than him with so many badges already, and was always asking about tips and tricks about Pokemon. Argento was more than happy to help him, and when Ash had to head back home he did his best to beat the League as to have permission to enter Kanto and visit his friend (they still kept contact thanks to mails, and occasionally Ash would pester his mother to visit Johto again).

Argento helped Gold and Silver deafeating Team Rocket, and managed to summon the Legendary Lugia afterwards. All of his accomplishments came so quickly to him, and he started to slowly change in personality, becoming more arrogant and entitled. He focused very hard on being "the very best" even going as far as using his own cousin Kristy for items and Pokemon he needed, putting his own gain before her wellbeing. The last stroke was when he met a couple kids who cheated, and befriended him in order to make him cheat too. Argento was fascinated by the thing, and effortlessy obtained the few Pokemon he needed for his Pokedex, along with rare items (especially Rare Candies, which he overly fed to some Pokemon; however, he was always very nice and caring of his Pokemon, he was just a demanding "I'm the best" ass with other kids xD). His mistake though, was stealing an Houndoom from Elite 4 Karen (claiming she was "evil" and she was probably abusing her Pokemon); that got his Trainer License confiscated and all of his Pokemon but Achona with it, and effectively shattered the mask of arrogance that had grown on him.*

The mistakes of his actions hit fully upon Argento, and he went in a sort of depressive state. He felt extremely guilty, and felt ashamed of himself; he just couldn't apologize enough, both to people and to his now former Pokemon. His mother, who obviously made preferences among her children and favored Argento, in a strange attempt to make him feel better (maybe to make him feel proud someone followed in his steps?) essentially forced Argento's younger brother RJ to become a Trainer too, and to follow Argento's steps as closely as possible (minus the cheating of course).**
A bit more than an year later Argento came to know how he was forced to do so, and helped him resign from the Trainer career**, offering to help him find his own path. But RJ was still too bitter towards his brother (although none of it was his fault) and harshly seeked solitude.

In that meantime, during Argento's depression, he got even closer than he already was to Ash, due to the boy losing his Pokemon as well in a tragic accident on Cinnabar Island (and even in that case, Ash blamed himself because he was there stubbornly since weeks trying to find MissingNo, and he was convinced it was the glitch Pokemon's revenge for seeking it out). The two friends helped each other a lot with getting through this period, and even organized a cruise vacation to Hoenn to try and cheer up. There they met Diana, another young Trainer, and the trio started talking and getting to know each other. Argento also tells Diana about his accomplishments, skipping his "downfall" though; the girl is impressed by his results, and mentally marks him as both his idol and rival. She later kind of tours the two guys around during their vacation and the little group bonds quickly into friendship, so when Argento and Ash later leave they manage to keep in contact, and Diana often goes visiting them.

After the trip the two friends felt a bit more better, and Argento, to atone his past mistakes, started volunteering in a variety of activities, like helping young Trainers with training, catching and breeding, and helping out at Goldenrod's Day Care. It was there that he met again Aurelie, and the two became good friends. He also got a mansion at Mt. Silver, and it was big enough on purpose, so that he could easily accomodate all of his family and friends, and live together (it's more like a shelter/get-together spot though, most people stay there for a while, then go travelling or somewhere else, return, etc.) This chaotic lifestyle stopped when he started following on tv the missions of Pokemon Ranger, and finally found his true vocation. Fighting by his beloved Achona's side to help other people, Pokemon and the environment sounded like a dream to him, and so he soon travelled to the Fiore region. After going through the usual Ranger training, he managed to become a Top Ranger in relatively little time and he was so allowed to go work as a Ranger back to the Johto region. He was happier than ever, and considered himself lucky to also see his friends and family overcoming their troubles and succeeding in life, and meeting many other people along the way.

Life was pretty good and steady, Argento continued with his job and was good at it, friends were always around, his siblings had found the careers they really wanted...couples were also starting to form, and even though Argento never showed interest in romantic relationships, he was always there ready to support his friends about them. Eventually he became uncle, both from Kristy who married Silver (the canon character ofc) and had a little girl named Hina, and from his soul-brother Ash, who married Aida and had 3 kids (2 of which adopted). He always liked kids, in Pokemon and humans alike, so Argento was more than willing to become a full-time uncle and help out his family when in trouble (for example when Aida and Ash had to travel to Unova to find a cure for their youngest child, it was Argento who took care of the other two).

As of now he just enjoys life and likes being helpful, everything's pretty cool~ I usually draw/RP him as either little kid (pre-cheating/arrogance), young adult (Pokemon Ranger, pre-friend's marriages) or adult (uncle time and all).

Notes:
*I loved my Silver game, it was my first game and I loved my little Pokemon as they were real. I played with it everyday, even after getting newer games like Crystal (which was essentially my side-bitch to help me completing Silver xD) and never grew tired of it. But one day, my classmates brought to school a GameShark and I, foolishly, borrowed it. A device able to unlock all sorts of Pokemon stuff was basically a kid's wet dream back then I guess lmao. Anyways, my game after some months resetted, and I...I can't begin to describe just how broken, shattered I felt. I kept switching on and off through the days, hoping the Continue option would somehow come back. I am aware it was probably also the game battery dying, but I can't help feeling guilty about cheating anyways. To this day, I still love my Pokemon, pixels or not, and I would never dare to hurt them again like that.
**After Argento’s game resetted I was completely destroyed and after some mourning, I decided to try restart the game making everything the same, to try and “relive” Argento. So same name, same starter, etc. but Totodile didn’t want to be a lady it seemed and I was stuck with a male one who definetely wasn’t Achona. And so, Argento Junior was born, the poor younger brother whose "mom" tried to force following Argento’s steps xD; After a couple months the game resetted again anyways so;;;

---RJ (younger brother)
Argento really loves him and often tries to get close to his lil bro, but RJ is a very reserved type who doesn't like contact with people, not even family. Plus, since he was little he was always compared to Argento, and everyone always expected big things from him just like his older brother did, so he's kinda bitter about that. They do have a better relationship than with their sister though.

---Silver (younger sister)
Younger sister, Argento is often victim of her pranks. He's very protective with her and RJ, and is so clumsy that believes her to be a little innocent girl. While he tries to shower her with love, she enjoys putting him in every kind of trouble.

---Kristy (cousin)
After their rocky relationship as kids (they dearly loved each other, but with as explained in his story, pre-teen Argento wasn't exactly nice), they bonded extremely well from teenage and onwards. They share similar interests and personality traits, and admittedly Argento gets more along with Kristy than his own siblings. Spend a lot of time together, and are always ready to support each other.

---Kyou (cousin) CaptainRei
Since Kyou always lived with his father and barely had chanches to see his sister Kristy, Argento saw him just a couple times. Now that he's back and living in the MT. SIlver shelter as well they got more chanches to talk, but even though they get along well and care for each other their bond is not very deep.

---Ash (best friend) CaptainRei 
At the beginning they had the typical "sensei and pupil" relationship. Ash hadn't started his journey yet, and for being just 10/11 years old Argento was already a Pokemon expert, so he taught little Ash everything he knew. Over the years, their bond grew deeper and deeper, and they are best friends, and consider each other as if their own brother. They completely trust each other and share everything together, whether is good or bad. Any free time they have they spend it together, and even if not blood-related Argento is still considered fully as uncle of Ash's kids.
It will never happen in the "canon" storyline since Ash is straight, but me and my sis like to picture them as a yaoi couple sometimes

---Diana (friend)
Diana used to admire Argento and had the classic "idol" crush on him when kids. She considered him as a rival though, because she wanted to be the best Pokemon trainer around, better than him. The rivalry grew much stronger and the admiration feelings faded away when she discovered that he cheated, and was always bitter at the fact that despite that everyone still idolized him, and she was always number 2. Argento was always pretty naive to her feelings, and often offered to help her and teach her some tricks which enraged Diana even more. Now they overcome most bumps in their relationship, and are very good friends; Diana still is a bit tsundere about it, but she does enjoy spending time around Argento, even if he still can irritate her at times with his naivety and goofiness.

---Aurelie (friend)
They met as kids in Goldenrod town, she was helping his father with Pokemon haircuts. She took care of Argento's Espeon (still Eevee at the time), and they occasionally met inbetween Goldenrod and Ecruteak, but they really got to befriend each other as teens, while working in the same Day Care center. Argento would learn how to take properly care of a Pokemon physical appeareance, and Aurelie would learn how to train them, how to have them healthy and well fed, and everything else, with Argento being an ex-Pokemon Master. They are pretty close friends.

 Trivia: 
-----love cats, likes being surrounded by cat Pokemon and owning cat-themed items. He also listens (and sings to!) kitty songs like Nekomimi Switch, and even handmade cat ears accessories for himself and all his family/friends.
-----the actual reason why he got a Totodile as starter, and then choose also Espeon for his eeveelution (besides personal preference) was to honour his father's memory; in fact, Gin's best Pokemon were Feraligatr, Espeon and Tyranitar. Only the Tyranitar survived, and is kept at home by Argento's mother. (unconsciously, even RJ and Silver did the same thing)
-----actually, none of them knows of it, but Argento's father had battled against Ash's father in war, being killed in the process (and Gin's Tyranitar killing Ash's father in revenge after that)
