"You're so charming!"

Most puffs have always considered Adhara to be a little off. Some interpret it as something scary, while others see it as some distance from reality. As such, she tends to be isolated, not really knowing how to start a conversation and ‘puffs being too scared to start a conversation with her. When she does find her way into social situations she is extremely charismatic and fun to talk too!! She says whatever is on her mind and has essentially no fear about the judgment of others. She provides honesty and humor even if it isn't necessarily wanted. She's bad at empathizing or understanding other puffs, and while this doesn't make her cruel by any means, she performs poorly under tense social situations. She's dissonant from others, her mind seems to wander easily. She considers herself to have a lot of friends despite this, unaware of her own social ineptitude.

At heart Adhara is an explorer. She always found the unknown interesting, which was the whole purpose of her career! She always wanted to learn more about the unexplored corners of the Galuxy, but couldn't due to a mix of fear and the commitment of being a popstar. After her Void experience she was able to open up to this part of herself. She no longer felt concern or worry when facing the unknown, she greats it with open arms more so now than ever!

In addition to being very curious, she is also very intelligent. She was trying for an engineering degree at an esteemed college before becoming a popstar. She still loves tinkering, even having constructed her own ship and robotic companions! She also knows a lot about stellar anomalies and seeks to increase her scientific knowledge.

Adhara lives and breaths horror. She’s always loved spooky scaries and creepy crawlies. She totally prefers Earth’s entertainment compared to spacepuffs, eating up episodes of scary shows and listening to creepy music almost constantly. She doesn’t like scary movies though since over an hour is way too long to sit around staring at a screen! She doesn’t get the rush of thrill or terror this media is designed for, rather, she likes them for their mystery and uniqueness.

Despite her tastes, Adhara is very easily entertained. It doesn’t take much to get her attention and it doesn’t take much to lose it. She’ll listen to any story you tell, and will gladly share her own! In addition, she has a good temperment, she’s almost always keeping a level head and a laid back attitude. Few have seen Adhara truely upset

History

The Void has always had a mysterious allure to it- An unspoken pull; making it inherently engaging for those who have a dark enough imagination to explore its depths. The mysterious anomaly has always been whispered about since its discovery. No one who went in ever came out. This created a sort of subculture, people interested in more frightening aesthetics over the usual popping spacepuff ones. Adhara was a part of that group and used her interest as well as the lack of competition to rocket herself to fame. She debuted under the alias of "Arachnia", releasing her first album while she was still a teenager! She struggled to keep up with school and a bustling new life, but she was still intent on keeping up her studies for as long as she could. It was truly a perfect culmination of factors for fame. She became a new staple in a budding frontier practically overnight! She was iconic. Her powerful voice, interesting lyrics, elaborate performances and unorthodox aesthetic all brought her attention from media outside of her initial niche. While she wasn't the most popular pop star in the grand scene of puff-culture, she sure as hell was the "Queen of The Void". She tried her best to continue a formal education alongside this explosive "hobby", but dropped out after about two years of studying engineering.

She rode this wave of popularity for years-weaving in and out of discussion. Only true die hard fans can pin-point when her career actually started. She had seemingly just... been there, some even think she's as old as The Void itself! She liked being a mystery herself; she adored being recognized but not having to deal with the constant harassment of paparazzi. She was also fond of her fanbase and somehow found the time to talk to a lot of the fans who would reach out to her on social media (granted, it wasn't many). She seemed to be pretty feared even out of her stage persona.

This all came to a screeching halt when the critics finally caught up with her. She was well into adulthood at this point, but she was under fire for marketing herself as a sort of Void dweller even though she hadn't been recorded actually being there. Ever. Not even really to systems nearby the anomaly. Some argued she even avoided them when she toured! Adhara couldn't stand to admit to anything, she wasn't afraid! At least, she didn't think she was. The Void was powerful, a force not to be reckoned with. It was perfectly reasonable not to go there, maybe more so then for anyone else! Who knows what could happen if she got too close. She wasn't a coward though. She was better than petty drama. It was her responsibility to fix this, let this ordeal lie to rest once and for all! She had seen other celebrities get out of way deeper wormholes then this, how would this be different? Beside, the solution was obvious. Simply fly by The Void, sit in orbit for a while, take a few pictures and maybe a video, then leave! And so a plan was made, and all her problems were set to clear up within the week. She addressed this on social media and told everyone what she intended to do next. Her fans met her with support, and the critics jeered her on for not doing it earlier. She left within the first two days of the drama, and unfortunately, it would be the last anyone heard from Adhara "Arachnia" Amour in two long years.

Puffs speculated on what happened to her. Most knew she had made it to The Void. Pictures of her starship, "Eclipsa", nearing the site had been posted on social media in the hours leading up to her disappearance. She was even reported in a few bunnibucks and solar stations on the way! Some puffs claimed all these reports were fabricated though, believing in some greater conspiracy. At that point it was anypuff who was interested’s guess what happened next. Obviously, The Void isn't under constant surveillance. No puff would have seen anything. Some guessed she was abducted, a select few thought she was some alien or hologram who left to go back to whence it came, some even thought she willingly went in! There was even a rumor or two she went off with some strange lover. The majority accepted there had been an accident though, a miscalculation or a thruster failure that caused her to lose orbit and fall into the vortex. Her fans denied this, going for any other theory, but the majority either didn't care/know or just thought it was an unlucky error.

Adhara is the only one who knows what truly happened though, and oh boy, is it a story. She arrived at The Void as outlined in her social media posts, and started to take a few pictures. She was taking out a video camera to film a short vlog when she felt something-a shiver down her spine, as if she was being watched. It was probably nothing. Who would be out here in the middle of space orbiting a strange anomaly that was easier to avoid entirely? Still, she felt the need to turn around. A mixture of dread and intrigue grappled in her mind but she shakily turned around and made her way to a starboard widow. There it was, The Void. Swirling purple clouds pulled everything into that dark purple mass. She stared into the depths. And slowly but surely, like a dramatic villain in film noir, the void almost returned her gaze. She stood transfixed for who knows how long. A sound started emanating from the vortex, she didn't notice it at first but it was getting louder. A steady beat, and almost musical whirring. She swears she heard voices too; calling to her, beckoning her in something that was so nearly a musical language. The rhythm filled her entire being; it felt like it was coming from the walls now. Her ears were ringing! Her vision started to blur. She focused on one thing. She had to get closer: For her fans! For the critics! For herself! For The Void! Nothing was more important than entering the portal. Nothing was more important than getting to Vortexity. Nothing would stop her. Not reason, not logic. Her mind was unified but reckless. She spoke.

"Eclipsa, disengage orbit"

And then she fell.

The vividness of previous memories fail at this point. While she can feel the glass still on her fingers as she looked out of that window; she could barely describe the pull. There's no way she can describe the fall. Maybe there were colors, maybe there was nothing. Maybe the voices and music got louder, maybe they stopped. Maybe it was over in an instant or maybe it was an lifetime adrift. She doesn't know. Nobody knows. All she knows is she woke up while still being awake. She looked around. She didn't recognize the place where she was but it felt familiar. Like a song she had written as a child.

"Eclipsa where are we?"

"V-vort-t-t-exit-t-y"

The robotic voice somehow managed. The ship’s voice was choppy, glitching out as if it wasn't quite confident in it's answer. Adhara repeated this name in her head. It felt right. Her ship didn't seem to damaged, for one thing she was still inside. She quickly made her way to the door, practically falling out onto uncharted land. The rhythmic beating was amplified here, Adhara could feel it pulse up from the ground up into her halo. Her eyes scanned over the purple city she had landed in the middle of, only being able to see a few buildings ahead of her through a thick fog. She didn't see any other puffs nearby, but she was aware of presences around her. And yet, she failed to look directly in front of her.

"You must be new here"

Adhara looked down. If she didn't know better, she'd say it was another puff in their goo form! But that couldn't be the case, right? Goo forms couldn't talk, and they didn't have eight eyes either! And yet there one was, matching that exact description. Whatever it was, it was peering at her oddly. It seemed transfixed on her poofy tail. She stood speechless for a moment, finally uttering her first contact with a new species.

"Wh-who are you?" she managed.

"That doesn't matter. What does matter is I know who you are! Arachnia! We've seen your face a lot, outsiders seem to find this a good dumping ground for anything with your name on it. We have something waiting for you, follow me"

And with that, the Goo turned around. Adhara looked back at Eclipsa, really seeing no other choice but to follow.

The goo lead her a few blocks to what seemed to be a warehouse, and nudged open a large, sliding door. The lights inside flicked, illuminating a large room that almost seemed to be a shrine to... Her. A recklessly constructed one that seemed to be for storage rather then flattery but a shrine nonetheless. Posters lined the walls, little trinkets had been thrown around, even large, expensive looking objects with her face printed on it had been dragged in. Adhara put two and two together pretty quickly: somehow, without her noticing, fans had been throwing... Sacrifices into the void to... appease her or something. It made sense, but it was surreal how much of it the creatures of this realm decided to store.

"Impressed? You'll need to settle down.. I guess you can stay here, if you like. I'm sure someone threw in a bed or a custom sofa with your face on it. I'm sure you could also get an apartment if you like, if being in a room with a bunch of pictures of yourself creeps you out."

"Apartment. Please."

At this point, Adhara recalls being more then overwhelmed. She knew she'd be stuck in this place for a while, and that scared her. What would her fans think? What would the Galuxy think? She could barely find the composure to sign the lease to her new apartment. She barely noticed how weird the puffs looked when she finally passed some while exploring the town with the anonymous goo. She got her apartment, learned the basic rules of the place and found a safer place for Ecplisa so it wasn't stuck on the road. It took her about a day and a half to realize that the puffs in this place were different.

They had a different energy, different features, and they were unlike anything she had ever seen before! She first noticed it when leaving her apartment after staying there for the better part of that day and a half, simply drinking it all in. She finally realized she needed food, and bumped into a puff on her way out. Instead of a tail, they had an entire planet floating behind them. A. Planet. A small one, but it sure wasn't the puffy cloud she was so used to seeing. She immediately turned around, booked it down the hallway and almost broke the door down getting back into her room. Who knew the queen of creepy could be so easily scared!

About half an hour later she decided to brave the outside again. She successfully made her way to a restaurant, ordered food without crying, and ate by herself. She felt alien. Well, she was alien, but it was really starting to weigh on her. The world was familiar yet uncanny. It was almost like a mirror image of regular space. All her technology still worked, she could even receive news from the outside world! The first thing she tried when she learned there was wifi in Vortexity was try to post on media, to say she was okay. But it didn't go through. She saw reports of her disappearance spread on the internet, but she could do nothing to interact with it.

The day Adhara figured out she was changed was surreal to say the least. It was about two months into her new Void life, and the media covering her disappearance had more then since cleared. She had grown to like her life here, a part of her would dare say she likes it more then the one she left behind. The Voidpuffs were fascinating, and their society was much more closely knit and slow paced. It almost felt like the were connected on some deep level, a unity you'd have to be in to understand. The beat that had been so prevalent when she first arrived was now nothing more than a dull hum, background noise, a rhythm which she could lead her life with. But she finally noticed a change. Her antenna had darkened, ever so slightly, but she noticed. What was once gold like her eyes had browned. It finally clicked to her. The reason why she didn't see any other puffs here, even though she knew plenty fell in. It's why the Voidpuffs were so eerily familiar. The Voidpuffs were Spacepuffs once they accepted their new home completely. She didn't know how to feel. A part of her didn't want to change but a part of her had already moved on.

The next two years went by almost uneventfully. Adhara's transformation was completed roughly six months since she first arrived in Vortexity, and in that time she completely adapted. She was happy, satisfied with her new life and glad she had taken the plunge. She was who she marketed herself to be. She loved flying through the city on her broomstick, finally being able to see through the smog and marvel at the wonders this relatively small community had in store. She accepted the fact she was going to stay there for a long while. At this point, she couldn't go back. She decided that if she returned she'd surely be recognized and puffs would ask too many questions. If she went back in the the outside world after being gone for an entire surge cycle it would be strange. Everyone would pick up on her obvious visual changes and try to investigate. Some strange celebrity disappears for a year and shows up even stranger? Questions would be asked. Voetexity could be discovered!

And she wasn't sure if that was okay. She wasn't even sure if she'd be let out if she tried. It was just better to be happy, keep a secret a secret and make the most of it.

The dynamic suddenly shifted after year two. Someone slipped up. Someone got the entire species plastered all over Central Star News, and both those in the Void and out were shocked. The Adhara discussion was reignited almost instantly. ‘Puffs quickly put things together, theorizing that she was there and that she had been hiding for all those years. They were right of course, but Adhara didn’t want those uncertain rumours to be spread for longer than they had to. She missed her old life. She knew she couldn’t stay in the Void forever, there was so much outside to do and explore! It would be better to leave sooner rather than later. The fans, the fame.. Nostalgia called her to the spotlight again. With no need to hide anymore, no need to stay, no reason to wait any longer, she could go! The surge after that newscast was a disaster, so many ‘puffs suddenly trying to get in or out. Adhara was one of the first to leave, soaring out of the Void with a newfound excitement to reconnect with her old life!

Adhara immediately tried to get back into her old life. After being gone for so long, it was rough getting things back in order. Things were still going wild with all the Void drama, but she knew that ‘puffs were glad to see her back. It took her awhile but she found her footing and was able to plan a big concert! It sold out instantly. It’s argued if spacepuffs were more curious in seeing a voidpuff in action or if they were eager Adhara’s grand return, but the concert would be packed. Adhara hadn’t written anything new during her time in the Void, but she was more than willing to reprise her classics. Everything was set, the show was ready to begin.

Certain ‘puff predicted disaster during the concert, and yet none came. After all, things were seemingly to perfect, something had to go wrong! But it didn’t. Everyone who attended the concert had a blast, and Adhara gave one of her best performances ever! Everyone was satisfied with the show, except Adhara. She declined the interviews after the concert, opting to head off to her home. The performance wasn’t as fun for her as performing was in the past. Most of her songs were wrong in the theories they presented about the Void, and she didn’t want to spread misinformation. Something about the whole thing was just… off, and she couldn’t shake the feeling. Adhara wanted to go back to the Void, but the surge was over, and without it making it to Vortexity would be impossible! She didn’t know what to do. She tried taking up interviews, hanging out with other voidpuffs who had left and writing new songs but it just didn’t click. She wanted something new, something exciting. So she just left.

Adhara decided she’d go on an adventure. After all, there were plenty of sights to see and places to discover out in the ever growing Galuxy! Maybe she could find something that gave her the same excitement as those first few days in Vortexity. She didn’t go radio silent this time, making an active effort at this time to record her newest adventure and post it online. She didn’t have the constraints of being stuck anymore, in her loyalty to her career or the Void, so she was free to do as she pleased! She chose a new path in life, one that would prove to be the most exciting one yet!

Atasi Hana

[ Acquaintance ]"Atasi Hana? Hmm.. I recall seeing her at the Cosmiicreep Ball, she tried to sell me something. An app I think? I didn't get the full pitch, she ran off once she realized who I was. Despite that, I respect her dedication! It takes a certain kind of 'puff to market at a big event"
