Mary Shelley

Mary Shelley, otherwise known as Dr. Frankenstein, is a member (former member later on) of the Guild. She appears as a mysterious woman who doesn't have much to say at first aside from winking and giving the ocassional laugh. Soon after however she is shown a bit more, giving orders to her "creations" that are a part of her ability. Her inital appearance she doesn't do much aside from fight and talk about how glorious she believes her creations to be.

Later on, after the Guild disbands she finds herself staying in Japan for the sake of her loving to travel. She basically becomes a tourist and ends up running into Dazai on more than one occassion. It is assumed that she eventually goes back to making 'convenient' creations as she no longer has the funds to make them as she normally would. However, it's a bit hard to fully confirm that as she kept the ones she had previously made, and newer creations have yet to pop up.

Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus

Mary is able to give life to anything that she creates. However, it must be a creation of hers. She is unable to simply bring someone back from the dead - but taking different body parts from a group of bodies and putting them together she is able to give life to, as it qualifies as something she created that did not previously exist. It does not give these creations a mind of their own though, they are simply walking zombified creations that only she is able to control and give orders too. Likewise, she is also able to rid these creations of the life she gave them.

Originally born in England, Mary had always been rather interested in creating things. She discovered her ability soon enough, unintentionally giving life to small little thing she had put together out of a bunch of objects lying around. Mostly keeping this to herself, she decided to keep trying it out throughout her life, mostly experimenting with smaller objects she put together, though she was only capable of making them do simple things such as picking up pencils. Eventually at some point as she got older she found a man she supposedly loved who was originally from America. Her family did not approve of him, but Mary, not caring, went ahead and eloped and ran off to America with him. However, this ended up being a mistake as only a month after the move, Mary woke up to discover the house had been broken into her and her husband had been strangled to death (the attacker running off and leaving probably in fear of getting caught with a dead body on their hands). Distraught, Mary tried to give life back to him, but ultimately it didn’t work as she can’t give life to what she did not create. So, she did what any normal person would do and cut his head off. She figured if she did that she could gather other body parts (mostly from graves she dug up I swear this girl should’ve been arrested) and create a new body for him in order to give him life again. This would prove to be a horrible mistake as she had never messed with doing so with actual bodies before, and ultimately, it failed. However, she found herself becoming more interested in such things, and started to study more in order to create a proper creation from body parts.

At some point in the process of doing so, Fitzgerald discovered her and agreed to help fund what supplies she needed for such actions, as long as she joined the guild. Naturally, she agreed. And eventually found herself capable of creating a "monster" out body parts.

Osamu Dazai

Current love interest. The two are absolutely ridiculous together. They try to cause shit for each other but really it only ends up affecting the others around them. Save everybody and anybody nearby when these two are planning something.

Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald

The two don't have much of a friendship, but she does respect him for paying her funds to make her creations..

The Guild Members

Not much to say here, Mary just enjoys teasing them. Aside from Lovecraft, who, she can't get a reaction from no matter what she does.

Percy Bysshe Shelley

At one point in her life she had loved him, however as time went on she thought about him less and less. Mary has no intent on forever dwelling on the past, so whereas she still cares for him, she's gotten over his death fairly well.
