Before her corruption, Zielle was a well known author for fantasy novels. She adored her fans and often would travel all around the regions for inspiration. Though she was sweet, her craving for the newest most exciting thing to include in her stories is what exactly would lead to her downfall. The media darling took a tumble through the corrupt region and found herself corrupted as well and went missing for several decades. For a time she became as twisted as the islands that became her new home but she was eventually rescued by chance and given the cure. Now she has returned to the mainland but writes under the pen name Miss Silk and mostly hides out at pretty much any business still open at night and willing to serve someone with grey tainted eyes. She’s bitter about how she fell from fame but she’s slowly rising back up with a new reputation.

Charming

Being a writer she’s fairly good with words and has been known to do social circles around people to get gossip or good information out of them. She’s even lured a handful of victims while she was corrupt as she got fairly lonely on the islands. She lies casually whenever she feels and has sarcasm coated in honey but people are usually drawn in.

Glamorous

She loves the glitz and glamour she once had and clings to that even today with shiny fabrics and nice jewelry. She’s very proud of her crystal growth and practically flaunts it in every outfit, often having things tailored to show them off. She doesn't need to be the most fabulous thing in the room but she’ll be damned if she’s ignored completely.

Cynical

Trust issues abound, she has a hard time connecting on a deeper level just because of her time as a corrupted Dextroluma. Now, she keeps people at arms length and has very few close relationships because of it. She often expects people to be looking out for themselves in the world so she does the same as a safe guard.

About

Overall, Zielle has always been a bright and charming girl even as a child. Quick to make friends but usually losing them quickly due to drama and her lack of respect for people's secrets, she’s always struggled with keeping people around long term. Eventually this ramped up into a reputation for her and going into her teen years her friends had soon become few and in between–or at least friends who she could truly trust. She grew up with parents she felt were suffocating her and expecting great things as they were both very active in the Dextro community but weren’t very kind behind closed doors. This caused her to pull in on herself, making up stories of great adventures and friends far away from where she was growing up. Eventually, as she was coming into her adulthood one of those stories finally got traction that hyped up her next release and from there, things simply snowballed until she had blown up in fame over the next 25 years or so. She was no longer alone in a way, her fans and her family fully supporting her career but the glory didn’t last forever and the fame had its own brand of loneliness.

The Corruption

Eventually, fame and fortune as a well known author simply wasn’t cutting it for Zielle and she was looking for something more exciting to add to her stories. She had traveled nearly all the regions but found nothing worth using for inspiration. However, she was eventually told of a ferry that went near enough to the corruption islands, one that would allow her a peek at the shores without getting too close. Young and naive she joined the small voyage but they got far closer then she had been told and were soon attacked after getting too close to the islands. Corrupt soon surrounded on their own smaller ships and sank the ferry, leaving Zielle and the few others who had dared the journey to wash ashore. The next few days were a blur of fear and eyes peering at her through dense forests as she ran through overgrown abandoned villages and tumbled through the uncharted terrain.

Days later or even weeks later, she could barely keep the strength to stay awake while things crept around her while she took sanctuary in a decaying tree, the insides glowing with the hum of purple mushrooms. When she emerged again the light from her eyes was dwindling, white giving way to dark ink and the corrupt gave her space and made way. She was of no interest to them anymore as she was now one of them and it was up to her to get a footing in the society. She had no kind start and often slept outside or starved for days until she had no choice but to consume more of the corrupted fungi, but years later and she was doing well for herself in a small home she had built against the tree she had took refugee in all those years ago.

While on the islands, Zielle was eventually known as someone people could go to for letters and poems to loved ones either on the islands or those farther away who lived corruption free. Some had rotted so far they could barely write or put words together themselves and it helped her keep her mind sharp so she was glad to do it. The social aspects of the islands were never to her taste, the cruelty far past what she was used to but this became the norm as the months turned into years and soon she stopped counting all together. She saw many Dextro die thanks to the disease and even more come kicking and screaming onto their shores as the corruption eventually claimed all who came.

Decades after she had come there, she now had a successful little shop in her home and was happy with her life and the few friends she had made during her time there. What she had not expected was to be kidnaped from the islands by researchers looking for corrupt Dextro to test the cure on. ZIelle had heard of these raids but was eventually the victim of one and found herself dragged from the corruption islands and back on the mainland. Seeing as she hadn’t exactly consented to the cure, she attempted to fight it but it was a persistent medication and once she was fully cured, she was set lose in a random forest. Eyes now grey instead of jet black, she stumbled through the region for days and found her way to the only home she could still recall through the haze of being corrupted for years–her cousin Parisa.

Current

It took a few years of staying with her cousin to come out and be social again. During those hard days of withdrawals from the mushrooms and the long nights of nightmares, Parisa was always beside her with a comforting word or hug. Truly, Zielle does not know how she would have survived returning to the mainland without her support of getting readjusted. Eventually, she began to go out slowly for small errands and the like before she took the final step of moving out and on her own. Needing the buzz of a large city to not lose her mind in the quiet of the Forest Region–and the gaze of the royals making her feel guilty–she moved into a region with a nice nightlife. Instead of setting up shop again, she holed herself up in her new home and returned to writing during the day and going out at night. Now, some years later she feels more stable but she feels the creeping urges or a relapse at the back of her mind during particularly hard days.

  • Her favorite feature about herself is the crystal star shaped beauty mark under her eye, she loves adding glitter makeup looks to make it stand out.
  • She spends a lot of time observing people and lurking around the nightlife of cities for inspiration for her new novels.
  • While she once wrote inspiring fantasy stories, she’s shifted into darker themes and characters in her new books and prefers them over her previous writing style.
  • Loves to accessorize and collect jewelry for everyday looks. Mostly flashy things or things with crystals/large gems in them, her love for gold is very obvious.
  • Her favorite people watching spot is sitting on the higher levels of the club Ambrose owns and works at, often scribbling in her journals she carries around as inspiration hits.
  • When she’s feeling really down about the past sometimes she’ll put her treatments off until the last few possible moments, feeling the corruption creeping in before pushing it back again with the medication. Does this most often when her writer's block is being persistent.

The two of them are extremely close but there is some distance from the time they were separated due to corruption. Reunited, they spend plenty of time together but they have a habit of bickering over sensitive topics but family is family and they try to support each other anyway.

Her and Ambrose are very close and he’s one of the few she actually trusts these days, so much so that they’ve had a few flings since they met one night he was working. He’s usually her biggest confidant and secret keeper like he is for many clients at the club. She’s a little disappointed he seems to avoid corruption and the topic of it but she’s happy he doesn't judge her at least.

He irks her but he spends lots of time around Ambrose at the club which gets on her last nerves honestly. Each time she sees him she’s reminded of her days of corruption and he has no problem bossing her around or acting like he owns the place no matter where they are. Him and Ambrose seem close from the past however so she puts up with him as best she can but loves nights he’s not there.
